Snap On Vs Matco Ratchet

Quote jdub1022 post 106862 i agree with alot of the above.
Snap on vs matco ratchet. The only snap on ratchet i have is an fcy72 which has a hole all the way through the head and is only about 4 1 2 oal so you wouldn t ever really crank on it. Lang 5278 bit ratchet set. I personally do not think that mac matco or snap on branded tools are worth the extra markup since they use the same forgings and manufacturing processes that make husky and kobalt and pre 1994 craftsman. They re worth a serious look.
But check out air cat air tools. You can get huge ones for cheap and many handtools are good. I think there s more to a ratchet than brute force though. Last i heard matco had a much better deal on tool boxes than snap on.
Where you need to pay attention are things like ratchets and torque wrenches. I would think that your money will go farther on the matco truck. And for air tools go with something like ingersoll rand. I have this set in the mac version.
But if you aren t terribly concerned with budget you can get the blue point branded version on the snap on truck for 58 or from matco for 53. A close look at the snap on vs matco locking flex head ratchets a side by side look at them. 1000ft lbs of working torque and 1300 reverse. Unlike snap on however their entire catalog is discounted from scan tools and fluke meters to socket rails and creepers.
Snap on first then mac than matco mac wrenches are the most pleasant to use. I truly appreciate each view that i get o. I never bought a ratchet handle but i can t see why anybody would want to drop 300 on a snap on 1 4 ratchet set when you can get a great craftsman handle for 20 and pawn shop sockets cost fifty cents each. Impact sockets are good and their air ratchets are good.
I still use impact sockets from a store down the street called metro tool which is basically a harbor freight. Harbor freight is a good friend right now especially for tool boxes. So maybe go snap on mac or matco for the ratchets. Thanks for watching.
Bit ratchets are pretty handy to have around and for under 25 there s no reason not to. So if that snap on set has 20 sockets you just built one just as good for 30. Very cheap and durable. 03 e350 7 3 psd 15 pass stock hi top with tall doors 245000 mi sold.
They make a great impact wrench and generally are cheaper than the mac or snapons. For what it s worth if you qualify for the sep program you also qualify for matco s discount program which is also about 50. I mostly bought matco stuff when i was buying heavy and i haven t really had to replace any of it.
