Smell Of Granite

When i put my hand on the material above the drawers it s just plain old granite no wood in between.

The dishrag may have had bleach or something in it that damaged the sealer on the granite and then bits of food and grease entered the granite and are decomposing and stinking. While granite is a very hard surface and less porous than marble unsealed or weakly sealed granite will soak up oils spills and stains. Andy not bashing here just an idea.
Granite is a porous material and if they were improperly sealed food odors can linger. My brand new granite countertops have drawers under them and when i open the drawers now i smell a sort of earthy musty smell. Washing the surface with hot water and dish soap and rinsing well will remove the vast majority of germs and bacteria. To check whether your granite is sealed leave a few drops of water on the surface.
Sometimes water damage not the granite is the source of the smell. Try googling and see what pops up. Dawn dish soap is safe for use on granite and is a popular choice. In a worst case scenario the granite might need to be resealed.
I had old granite that was there and no smell. If it beads up you have a secure seal. Bodily fluids from decomposing bodies smell a lot worse than what you are dealing with might work.
